“Meet Mr. Eddy” Hello and welcome! My name is Jonathan Eddy and I am a fifth grade teacher. I have been teaching within the Lynn School System for 19 years. The schools that I have previously worked at were Cobbet, Ingalls, and Connery. I have been at Aborn for six, glorious years. During my tenure I was also a technology teacher for six years. Recently, I have finished my CAGS in Educational Leadership.
This year we began to implement the Common Core Standards into our curriculum. The use of these Standards means that we are more focused on themes and specific content appropriate for our grade level. While there is a learning curve for all of us because of the newness of the Standards both the students and myself are adapting very well.
My philosophy in education is to make the student an active participant in their own learning. With the Common Core’s focus on college and career I want the students to take more responsibility for their education. I also like to make learning fun for the students through the use of group work and hands on activities.
