|“Meet Mrs. Miriam” Hello Parents and Visitors to the Aborn Website,
My name is Miriam Rodriguez-Fusco, M.S., CCC-SLP. I have been a dedicated, Massachusetts' licensed speech and language pathologist for the city of Lynn for the past 14 years.
I have my Master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders from Emerson College of Boston, MA.
I was drawn to the field of education soon after earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Brandeis University. I had a wonderful opportunity to work with small children with disabilities of all sorts and great specialists during a part-time job at the North Shore Infant and Toddler Development Center, operated by the United Cerebral Palsy Association in Lynn, MA.
If you were to visit my teaching space, you would see a small group of children (no larger than 4 and no smaller than 1) from grades PK to 5 working at a table to improve their communication skills. One of my greatest joys in life is helping children learn how to communicate clearly and effectively, so they can establish meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others throughout their lifetime.
I think one of the best things parents can do for their child is to routinely talk, discuss, and read with them, so that they have plenty of good communication models and a multitude of opportunities to develop their vocabulary, thinking, speaking, and social communication skills.
