An Important Update Regarding Our Remote Learning Plans

English - Spanish
April 18, 2020 - Aborn Says Hello! Watch Our Video Message!
A special message from the Aborn Staff to our Aborn Families. Apart, we stand together!
Be safe and we hope to see you soon!

March 31, 2020
Good evening everyone! It's Mrs. Spiess.

Every teacher now has a virtual Class Dojo classroom set up and all parent invitations have been sent out by email or by text. We are looking to connect as many families as possible. This will be the place to connect with your child's teacher, eventually find resources and lessons, get personalized help or messages, and be able to upload your own pictures, videos, or posts. Some teachers have already posted videos, lessons, and messages.

If you have not received an invitation, please check your SPAM, CLUTTER, or JUNK folders. Just follow the steps and connect. Once you are in, visit your Class Story to see the latest message from your teachers or from me. We are all learning how to use this platform, so don't be afraid! Jump right in. If you still can't find the invitation, please reach out directly to your classroom teacher by email. You can also email me.
Come on, let's DOJO this!

I will continue to blog daily, but I have decided that I will not update any other content on the Wix Website as everything from now on will be on Class Dojo. I will leave the site up as is though.
I cannot thank our teachers and families enough for all you are doing for our Aborn kiddos!
Have a great evening and stay safe!

Miss you all,
Mrs. Spiess

How to See Germs Spread Watch The Video Here!
This YouTube video, by Mark Rober, shows how easily and quickly germs spread. This is an excellent, kid-friendly way to teach children about the importance of hand-washing and social distancing, and it teaches them some germ science basics. Mark spends the day in a Grade 3 classroom, just before the school is closed due to the Corona Virus.

Local Area, Health and Social Emotional Learning Resources
Here are some SEL visuals to help you and your child navigate the range of emotions, behaviors, and choices you are likely to encounter during this time away from school.

The best thing to do is to keep your child on a schedule. The routine of the school day is important for students. They know the main purpose for being in school - even if it is from home - is to learn and that routines are in place precisely to help them focus on that learning. To that end, I am also uploading the Master Teacher Schedule. Just find your child's grade/room.

Here is an article that you might find useful:
