Classical Applied Technology Department | 2017-2018

The Applied Technology Department is dedicated to providing students with the knowledge and ability to be successful in their future endeavors. Our course content includes Computers for College, Computer Applications 1 and 2, Computer Literacy, Web Design / Desktop Publishing, Accounting, and Cisco IT Essentials and Cisco Introduction to Networking. The entire Technology Department, Computer Labs and every teacher at Classical received new computers in 2011.

Welcome! I am Ms. Dean and I will be teaching TV Production this year. I am excited to work with our students in the school’s state of the art studio. As a Classical alumni, I am looking forward to teach at the school where I built many lifelong memories. I am a graduate of Bentley University where I majored in business. After graduation, I returned to Lynn as a teacher. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time as a softball instructor.

Course Description
This course examines the fundamentals of TV Production including portable camera equipment, camera shots, camera movements, studio equipment, and video editing. This is a half-year course and also a prerequisite for all other advanced courses in the Television Production program
Course Outcomes
  • Safely and securely operate portable camera equipment.
  • Identify major camera shots/camera movements and composition.
  • Identify and describe major production roles.
  • Operate studio equipment as part of a live production.
  • Perform editing tasks in the post-production stage.

Late Assignments Policy
All missed assignments must be completed after-school within two weeks. Students are not permitted to make-up missed work during class time.

Electronic Devices 
The use of any electronic device is not permitted unless instructed otherwise. Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate confiscation. 

Student Expectations
It is responsibility of all students to follow the rules and procedures as published in the student handbook. Disciplinary issues will be handled on a case-by-case basis within the parameters of the student handbook. This includes but not limited to the following…

  • Handle equipment with care.
  • Demonstrate respectful behavior.
  • Come to class prepared.
  • Arrive on time for class.
  • Exhibit behavior conducive to learning.
  • No food or drinks.
  • Follow the school dress code.
  • Wear an ID and lanyard at all times.

Lynn Petkewich Applied Technology 9 - 12  

Welcome! I am Ms. Petkewich. I came to teach Computer Applications and Pre-Engineering at Lynn Classical this year after several years of being a Para Professional and Substitute teacher. My years of working in school systems provides me with the energy and understanding of students and their needs. I have a Masters Degree and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with a certification as an Instructional Technology Specialist.

My background as a software engineer helps me with the challenges and newness of today’s computer environment. I look forward to working with the students and assisting them in understanding the various computer concepts and applications to succeed in school and in the workforce.

SM Welcome! My name is Sherry McNulty and I have been teaching Instructional Technology and Accounting here at Classical High School for the past 3 years. I am also an advisor to "Classy Cuisine", Classical's own cooking club.

In my classroom, students will not only be developing an good understanding of essential computer concepts such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but they will also be learning how to be good digital citizens in this ever-evolving technology world.

I am Mr. Richards and I started teaching at Classical after making a career change from the business world. I teach Computer Applications and Web Design. I coach tennis and volleyball here at Classical and during the winter I coach basketball at Endicott College. My night back is Monday from 2:45pm-3:45pm.
