Please allow me to introduce myself.
I am your child’s homeroom teacher at Lynn English High School.
Your child’s education is as important to me as it is to you. My experience has been that when teachers and parents share the same goals of providing students with a quality education, there is a greater possibility that students will also see the value in their education. I strongly encourage you to become involved with your child’s education by talking with them about school regularly, be aware of progress reports and report cards when they come out, and attend any open houses or parent-teacher meetings.
If your child is on an IEP (Individual Education Plan), it is critical that any Special Education documents be returned promptly. Special Education is a highly specialized program to benefit students who have been identified as having a disability which affects their learning. Your understanding of the responsibilities of both teachers and parents is essential to your child’s success. If you have any questions regarding Special Education, please contact me.
Finally, please make sure that your child is prepared for school. I find that many students come to school without pencils, pens, markers, notebooks and binders. These are the essential educational tools for every student to succeed. Please make sure that your child is ready each day with the tools necessary to be successful. It is also strongly recommended that you monitor your child’s sleeping habits so that your child has the best possible attitude while attending school. In addition, Lynn English High School has a strict, “No Cellphone Policy”. If your child is caught using a cellphone in school there will, unfortunately, be disciplinary consequences.
In closing, Please contact me with any questions, concerns or feedback you may have (781-953-2000). I look forward to working with you and your child and I believe that, together, we will be successful this 2016/2017 school year.
