I have been teaching in Lynn for the past eleven years.  During that time I have had the opportunity to work with exceptional students and educators in two alternative high schools; The Career Development Center (CDC) and Fecteau-Leary Jr./Sr. High School.  I have taught Biology and Engineering classes during my tenure.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rutgers University, a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  I have had the opportunity to study Biology in world renowned laboratories and worked for a corporation in the biotechnology field.  I am currently working toward my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Administration at American International College.

I consider myself a life-long learner and work to instill this passion with my students and colleagues.  I hold my students to high academic expectations.  I am committed to supporting every student’s academic success because with knowledge and perspective   students are empowered to realize their dreams.

Students, parents or guardians can reach me by e-mail at barkalowk@lynnschools.org

I have been teaching for 24 years, with this being my third year in Lynn. I have previously taught in Southern NH and Methuen MA.  I love teaching science, and try to reach all my students using different methods and tools- including using iPads and SMART board technology as well as giving the students various options when it comes to projects or assignments which play to their strengths.
