Ten (10) years of full-time demonstrated education leadership experience in combination as an administrator, supervisor, teacher or counselor in vocational technical education. 6. Thorough knowledge of the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks (VTEC) and the Massachusetts Academic Curriculum Frameworks 8. Experience in teacher observations and evaluations 9. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate must be able to: · Work collaboratively with other administrators maintaining the mission of LVTI and reaching school improvement plan goals · Serve as the instructional leader for all school programs and infuse a cooperative commitment to the goals of the school with staff and students · Function as the daily manager of school programs and maintain a safe learning environment · Assume responsibility for all matters relating to supervision and oversight of staff, including but not limited to evaluation, hiring, discharge and assignment of personnel with the Education Reform Act of 1993 and An Act Relative to the Achievement Gap of 2010 · Meet with students and parents/guardians when concerns are not resolved at the teacher level · Serve as a resource to teachers on the discipline of students · Oversee the Career Center Coordinator/Director of Cooperative Education · Supervise the formal evaluations of all administrators, instructional staff, and support staff · Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction in technical areas and academic classrooms, and take necessary steps to ensure that the quality of instruction is maintained and improved · Set responsibilities and goals for support staff and evaluate their performance annually · Approve and recommend professional development for instructional staff · Oversee the alignment and implementation of career-technical frameworks and academic curriculum frameworks · Make recommendations to ensure on-going integration between vocational and academic departments · Monitor to ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are established and maintained · Provide training for staff and students in adherence to OSHA regulations · Facilitate the administration of MCAS to all students · Oversee the scheduling of all Program Advisory Committees · Supervise the organization of the General Advisory Committee · Evaluate the recommendations of the Program Advisory Committee · Prepare agendas and conduct meetings with the faculty and staff, School Improvement Team, and School Advisory Council concerning operational matters · Plan and coordinate the daily, monthly and yearly calendars · Oversee schedules and procedures regarding assignments for school activities, instructional activities, student and faculty meetings, extra-curricular activities, safety programs, athletics, teacher monitoring duties, student publications and student fund-raising · Assure representation of LVTI at relevant meetings and functions · Participate in the budget-building process each year · Conduct disciplinary hearings for Chapter 71, Section 37 and Chapter 71, Section 37 ½ violations and other serious disciplinary situations · Monitor and ensure that appropriate vocational technical records (safety plans, safety tests, maintenance reports, etc.) are maintained and accessible · Oversee the evaluation and approval of appropriate external/internal work sites and/or projects for instruction · Ensure that equal opportunities to all programs exist for all students · Monitor grade reporting · Ensure that student competency attainment reports are updated at the end of each marking period · Ensure that student competency attainment reports are sent to parents/guardians at the end of each marking period · Oversee all vocational technical student organizations · Monitor the implementation of IEP’s and/or 504 Plans · Utilize community resources that will assist in developing an effective educational program. · Perform other administrative duties as may be assigned by the superintendent

Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university. 2. Massachusetts State Educator license 3. A minimum of five years’successful teaching experience preferred. 4. Experience working with databases or programming and/or working with statistical software packages (e.g. Stata, SAS, SPSS, R). 5. Familiarity with the DESE’s Educational Data Warehouse training modules and report builder functions, the Student Information Management System (SIMS), the Education Personnel Information Management System (EPIMS), Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), and No Child Left Behind (NCLB) reporting. 6. JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in the ongoing development of an assessment and accountability system to monitor student achievement and evaluate the educational programs implemented to improve the educational outcomes of students in the Lynn Public Schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Collaborate/coordinate with school personnel in the central office and in the schools to ensure the vertical and horizontal articulation of curriculum and instruction in instructional technology. 2. Manage/supervise/conduct instructional technology professional development in the use of new technologies and best technology practices including collaboration and integration with Language Support Office and Special Education Department. 3. Collaborate with other district personnel in the construction and implementation of assessments that provide continuous feedback on student progress toward state standards. 4. Provide support to school-based data teams. 5. Scan, score, analyze and disseminate student assessment data to administrators and school personnel. 6. Assist in the analysis and creation of district reports on MCAS. 7. Supervise/review/recommend/order research based instructional technology. 8. Work with network administrator to coordinate specifications, procurement, licensing and upgrades of hardware and software for the schools. 9. Provide direction and support to the district on the use of online tools to support learning (e.g. Masson, Wikies, Blogs, SharePoint Services, MOODLE, PBS, online courses, VHS). 10. Prepare and/or assist in preparing grants to secure funds to support technology as well as to secure other funds to enhance education in the Lynn Public Schools. 11. Manage/supervise all instructional technology grants. 12. Collaborate with the Director of Computer Implementation to maximize district utilization of COGNOS and the data center. 13. Prepare quantitative reports on student performance (formative and summative) as requested by the Superintendent of Schools and the Lynn School Committee. 14. Advise Business Manager and Special Education Administrator on new technologies related to document storage and information retrieval. 15. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent/Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
