Lynn English High School is proud to announce that senior Tallia Dudley has been awarded the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship. Match Scholarship Recipients are admitted early to QuestBridge college partners with full four-year scholarships that are provided by the colleges and universities, ensuring for these students and their families that an education at a top college can be affordable.
QuestBridge’s 40 college partners include top liberal arts colleges such as Amherst, Pomona, and Williams and exceptional research universities such as Columbia, Duke, Rice, Stanford, and Yale. The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college that covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses. Tallia will attend Tufts University in the Fall 2020, and the annual $76,000 cost of attendance will be covered all four years.
QuestBridge, a national nonprofit based in Palo Alto, California, connects the nation’s most exceptional, low-income youth with leading institutions of higher education and further life opportunities. By recruiting, developing, and motivating these students — beginning in high school through college to their early career — QuestBridge aims to help talented low-income students attend the nations’ best colleges and to support them to achieve success in their respective careers and communities. Principal Thomas Strangie would like to congratulate Tallia, her family, and all the Lynn Public Schools teachers who educated and supported her throughout the years! |

VAPING INFORMATION AND RESOURCES |
Dear Parents & Guardians,
The letter below is to inform you of issues surrounding “vaping”/ “juuling.” (using e-cigarettes). Lynn English High School would like to share information about vaping with our parents and guardians. Vaping is a serious concern for teens across the country. There are misconceptions that it is a “healthy” alternative to smoking when in fact it carries its own risks.

About School Councils
A school council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.
It is important to note the School Council plays an advisory role in assisting the building principal to organize and implement a School Improvement Plan which not only addresses the areas in which the school intends to comply with the requirements of the Educational Reform Act, but also how the school intends to meet those system-wide goals and policies adopted by the school committee. Membership will consist of the principal, teachers, parents, students and community members. |
