Students from LVTI spent a week training with the New England Laborer’s Union to replicate union jobs, woxrking conditions and requirements. On Wednesday, students were given an opportunity to visit the union’s training center in Hopkinton, MA. Mayor McGee (center) came to Tech to encourage the students to apply themselves and to look for lucrative career opportunities within the various unions.
Auto Tech Photo CollageThe juniors in auto tech are working to take out another engine!
Auto Tech's first big project get a lift! The vehicle had a bad transmission that we had to replace with a new one. We removed the drivetrain from the vehicle so the students could have a better hands on experience. It is still a work in progress but we have the drivetrain and new transmission installed in the vehicle. The project should be finished by next week.

The LVTI Tigers are CAC State Vocational Champions in their division!

They convincingly handled Nashoba Tech last night 50-22. This team has proven themselves to be the best in LVTI History with a commanding 12-1 record! We would like to thank all of the teachers and staff that came out to support these fine young athletes. The number of people that came out to cheer them on to victory was amazing. I know this show of force kept the Tiger spirit strong! Congratulations to the outstanding coaches and the players! Thank you to our cheerleaders for their hard work, spirit and steadfast dedication. They have all brought pride to our school and to the City of Lynn.
Thank you again for a historic and truly memorable football season.

LVTI celebrated the 40 seniors who received the John and Abigail Adams scholarship with an ice cream sundae party.

Welcome to Lynn Vocational Technical Institute

As a former graduate of a Vocational Technical High School and having served in many teaching and administrative capacities at Lynn Tech for almost 28 years, I am proud and honored to serve as Principal Director of this great and truly unique school.  I believe that Lynn Tech is a great educational choice in that students will gain technical competency, employability skills and real world experience in a chosen technical area while earning a high quality academic education. Upon graduation our students are well prepared to enter the workforce or to continue their educational or career goals in two or four year colleges or technical institutions.

Lynn Tech offers sixteen technical areas that all students explore during part of their freshmen year before choosing a career path of study for the next three years. We offer three licensed trades where students log hours toward licensure while learning in shop. Co-Operative education and internships are also available to juniors and seniors who meet eligibility requirements. These students have the opportunity to transition into the workplace, offering them advanced on-the-job training that often leads to full time employment upon graduation.

The faculty and support staff at Lynn Tech is committed to providing our students with the best academic, technical and personal experience possible. Please read our mission statement and feel free to contact us if you’d like more information on what Lynn Tech has to offer.

Robert Buontempo Jr.

About School Councils

A school council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.

It is important to note the School Council plays an advisory role in assisting the building principal to organize and implement a School Improvement Plan which not only addresses the areas in which the school intends to comply with the requirements of the Educational Reform Act, but also how the school intends to meet those system-wide goals and policies adopted by the school committee. Membership will consist of the principal, teachers, parents, students and community members.
