Mission | The Mission of The Lynn Woods School is to encourage high expectations for success through standards based instruction that allows for individual differences and learning styles. Our school promotes an environment that emphasizes effort, responsibility and pride in our accomplishments. We strive to encourage our students to become enthusiastic lifelong learners.

Philosophy | We operate as an educational team. The team's goal is to cultivate an atmosphere that communicates the value of a solid education. Our educational philosophy suggests that with effective effort, all children can learn at high levels. Our role as educators is to introduce a wide variety of learning strategies to our students that they will use throughout their lives.

The Lynn Woods School is a small neighborhood school that focuses on the mastery of state standards combined with an emphasis on investing your best effort. Listening, thinking, and problem solving skills leave the children well prepared to solve the problems of the future. Respect for others is a core value at Lynn Woods School.

Our Drama Club presents 101 Dalmatians! For the 7th year in a row Wendi Whitcomb and Shawna Hemenway created a magical production at the Lynn Woods School.  This year the Drama Club presented a flawless performance of 101 Dalmatians.  The children practiced for weeks and the hard work was evident. As you can see from the photos the costumes were simply incredible. However the talent was what really captivated both sold out audiences.  Once again, cast and crew you out did yourselves!  Bravo~

We wanted you to have as much information available to you as soon as possible so that you are able to plan accordingly. We always have a great team of parents/relatives who help support the school during the year, volunteering at the school events.

Take part in your child's education. Be a part of the PTO and help bring fun and educational activities to the school as well as to help defray the cost of some field trips and other costs to the classes and/or teachers. There are many ways to help. Meetings are held at the school (notice is sent home), but if you can't make a meeting, feel free to contact a PTO officer and let them know how you can help.

Lynn School Resources

	Lynn Schools Healthy Meals Program The Lynn School Food Service Program is comprised of a partnership between Preferred Meals Systems and Chartwells. Over the past five years some of their accomplishments include: adding more Balanced Choice meals and "Better for you" snacks;  adding more fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains to our menus at all grade levels. Removing all fried foods from the menu and zero trans-fat in all foods. Look fore more exciting changes to come in the near future. Click here for School Lunch Menus and Food Program
	Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) is designed to meet the requirements of the Education Reform Law of 1993. This law specifies that the testing program must - Test all public school students in Massachusetts, including students with disabilities and English Language Learner students; - Measure performance based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework learning standards; - Report on the performance of individual students, schools, and districts. As required by the Education Reform Law, students must pass the grade 10 tests in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics and one of the four high school Science and Technology Engineering tests as one condition of eligibility for a high school diploma (in addition to fulfilling local requirements). In addition, the MCAS program is used to hold schools and districts accountable, on a yearly basis, for the progress they have made toward the objective of the No Child Left Behind Law that all students be proficient in Reading and Mathematics by 2014. http://www.doe.mass.edu/mcas/
