This school year will bring many exciting changes, including the installation of two portable classrooms for our fifth grade classes.

Unfortunately the classrooms will not be ready for the beginning of the school year, rather the delivery date for the new classrooms is tentatively set for October.

This will require two fifth grade classrooms to be temporarily located in the gym. This will also change the morning entry into the building. Last year the children were able to enter the school and have breakfast, socialize with their peers, and go to the classroom at 7:45 AM.

This year the children will wait outside the building until 7:45 AM. Please make sure that the children are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Grades 1 and 2 will wait in the appropriate line at the back door, labeled C-1. The teachers will accompany the children to the classroom where they will have breakfast from 7:45 - 8 AM
Grades 3 and 4 will wait in the appropriate line at the front door, labeled A-4. The teachers will accompany the children to the classroom where they will have breakfast from 7:45 - 8 AM
Grade 5 will wait in the appropriate line at the gym door, labeled A-1. The teachers will accompany the children to the classroom where they will have breakfast from 7:45 - 8 AM
All children will have lunch in the classrooms. At the end of the day, children will be dismissed at 1:45 PM
Grade 1 Rooms 11 and 12, all of Grades 3 and 4 will be dismissed out the A-4 door.
Grade 1 Rooms 15 & 15, all of Grades 2 and 5 will be dismissed out the C-1 door.
We anticipate a smooth opening with these minor adjustments. As soon as the portable classrooms are delivered and we can take occupancy, we will return to our normal morning entry. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact Principal Griffin.
We are looking for three new members for the school council. This dynamic group of individuals work closely to guide the school for future success. If you would like to nominate someone, or even yourself, a form will be sent home on September 20, 2016. An election will follow shortly after the closing date for nomination forms. We are excited for new members of our group!

  • Attendance is extremely important. Your child should attend school every day. Try to schedule doctor and dentist appointments after school hours or on Saturday. Please send in a note with your child if he/she is absent explaining why they were not in school.
  • School begins at 7:45. Every child will be served free breakfast at 7:45 in the classroom. Please make sure your child is here on time so they will not miss valuable instruction.
  • Make sure your child is in bed early during the school year. Children need 10 hours of sleep.
  • Research shows that reading aloud to your child will help them become successful readers. It also provides some quiet time for you and your child to spend together.
  • Limit the amount of time your child spends watching television or playing video games. Encourage your child to play outside, read, or invite a friend over.
  • The Tracy School first Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Open house will be held at 6:00pm. Parents will be able to meet their child’s teacher in the classroom. The teachers will explain the grade level curriculum, homework policy, and classroom expectations.

  • Please check into the office upon entering the building. The office must notify your child’s teacher before you enter the classroom.
  • All teachers pick up classes at designated areas in the mornings at 7:45. Please DO NOT enter the building with your child.
  • The morning routine will change as soon as the portable classrooms are delivered and occupied.

Best wishes for a successful school year.

Welcome To The Tracy Elementary School

Our school is a vibrant, active school filled with children who are encouraged daily to do their best as they try new things. With this in mind, we have designed programs that support students in their learning and give them skills necessary to become life-long learners. Our teachers work closely with staff, students, and parents create a positive learning environment for our school.

Every day we recite the Tracy School motto:
Do something nice for somebody else,
just because you can.
This is the basic premise for our entire school. Smile. Be nice. Be positive. And know that we are here for you.

Parents are an integral part of a student’s education. They monitor the child’s homework, attendance, and nightly reading. We strongly encourage parents to meet with teachers and share their thoughts and concerns. Please read the handbook and notices that are sent home. Check your child’s papers that come home and their agenda books. Stay in contact with the school.

As always, I am here if you need me!
