Important Notes and Reminders
Ø We continue to collect Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Soup Labels, which raises money for the school. Please cut them out and send them in with your child.
Ø Other ways to raise money for our school:
o If you shop at Hannaford, please send in your receipts and we will bring them to the store to receive money for our school.
o If you have a Target Credit Card, follow these easy steps and Target will donate 1% of your REDcard purchase to our school.
§ Sign up for Take Charge of Education and designate Shoemaker School. You can do this online, by calling 1-800-316-6142, or stop at an in-store kiosk. It’s that easy!
Ø Reminder: Every Friday is “school spirit” day. Have your child wear khaki bottoms and a blue shirt.
Ø Thank you to all who so generously contributed to Hearts for Haiti. We sent $1,000 to the Red Cross for relief efforts.

PTO Notes
Ø PTO Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. Hope to see many of you there.
Ø Recap of January meeting:
o Genevieve’s (wrapping paper, etc.) Fundraiser raised approx. $2,500. Thank you for your support.
o We discussed the possibility of holding a new fundraiser this fall which would include a social event.
o The craft fair last fall was a success. Plans are underway to hold another one this October.
o A vote was made to pay for calculators and teacher support materials for grades 3 and 5 in the amount of $3,000.
o On April 30 the New England Aquarium will be bringing their wade pools to the school for the first graders to enjoy.
Ø Your child should have received our Calendar Fundraiser for the month of March. This is a wonderful way to help raise money for your child to enjoy various programs sponsored by the PTO and to be able to provide our teachers with the supplies they need during the year. Students enjoyed the Marionette show in February and look forward to seeing Slapstick Science and Eden’s Edge Performances this month. All are PTO sponsored.
