Important Notes and Reminders
Ø Second Inservice day is Tuesday, November 3 – NO SCHOOL
Ø We collect Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Soup Labels, which raises money for the school. Please cut them out and send them in with your child.
Ø Every Friday is “school spirit” day. Have your child wear khaki bottoms and a blue shirt. See Lisa Letch for school apparel order forms.
Ø School Store is every Friday morning. School supplies and novelty items are for sale with prices ranging from 10 cents to $2.
Ø The Lynn Fire Department Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 from 2:00- 4:30 p.m. at the Broadway Fire Station. Stop by and check out the apparatus, meet Sparky the Fire Dog, learn fire safety tips and have a slice of pizza and soda.
PTO News
Ø Our next PTO Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 20 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome! If you have already sent in your PTO dues, thank you. If you have not, it’s not too late. Become a member of the PTO! $10 per family
Ø Recap of September meeting:
o The Kindergarten Tea was well attended. Thank you to all who set up, cleaned up, baked (1st grade mothers) and helped make it an enjoyable afternoon.
o One objective this year is for families to spend more time together. Several events are in place to help make this happen. (event details will be sent home)
o The PTO budget pays for various events throughout the year including: Game Night, Sundaes with Santa, Movie Nights, Buses for Field Trips, Cultural Events, Field Day, and Classroom Programs.
o Fall Fundraisers in place: Genevieve’s, Boston Coffee Cakes, Halloween Raffle, and Holiday Baskets.
o PTO budget was amended and approved.
o September 15th Election Day – 50/50 raffle raised $441 (winner donated money back to the PTO) Upcoming Election Days: Nov. 3, Dec. 8, and Jan. 19 (50/50 raffle will take place as well as a bake table inside the gym). We will be looking for volunteers!
o Congratulations Kelly Papageorgiou for winning the Sunoco Gas Card which was raffled off at the PTO meeting!
