Students Entering Grade 1
Click here for a printable version of Grade 1 Reading List Students entering Grade 1 will draw pictures of the beginning, middle and end of the 3 books that they choose. All students entering Grade 1 will be required to read (or be read to ) one Mother Goose book and 2 books (any title) from the following list of authors : Brett, Jan Brown,Margaret Wise Carle, Eric Geisel, Theodor (Dr. Seuss) Henkes, Kevin Munsch, Robert Rey, H.A. Rylant, Cynthia Shannon, David Williams, Vera ** In September all students will bring in their products for the 3 books that they have read. Also everyone must orally tell about their favorite book of the summer, and authors' names will be graphed on a chart to see which ones were the most popular. Students Entering Grades 2 & 3
Click here for a printable version of the Grade 2 and 3 Reading List Students entering Grades 2 & 3 will fill out a Book Report for each of the 3 books that they choose. (A form will be provided.) All students entering Grades 2 & 3 will be required to read one Hans Christian Andersen or Brothers Grimm fairy tale and 2 books (any title) from the following list of authors: Adler, David Cleary, Beverly Danziger, Paula DePaola, Tomie Gibbons, Gail Kellogg, Steven Osborne, Mary Pope Park, Barbara Polacco, Patricia VanAllsburg, Chris ** In September all students will bring in their products for the 3 books that they have read. 4 & 5

(A form will be provided.) All students entering Grades 4 & 5 will be required to read one myth or legend and 2 books (any title) from the following list of authors: Blume, Judy Christopher, Matt Cleary, Beverly Dahl, Roald Gantos, Jack Giff, Patricia Reilly McDonald, Megan Sachar, Louis Snicket, Lemony Spinelli, Jerry ** In September all students will bring in their products for the 3 books that they have read.
