Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II) is a federal law that protects individuals from discrimination based on their disability. Lynn Public Schools prohibits discrimination based on disability in its programs and activities. Section 504 and Title II forbids organizations and employers that receive government funding from excluding or denying individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to receive program benefits and services.
Lynn Public Schools will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified students under Section 504. The Lynn Public Schools prohibits retaliation against any individual who asserts their rights under Section 504 or Title II or who files a complaint, testifies, assists, or participates in an investigation or proceeding under Section 504 or Title II.
