Cathy began working at Classical, when the new building opened in September of 1999, as a building substitute and transitioned to teaching in the Special Education Department full time in the fall of 2001. Cathy has served as the school's community liaison to the American Red Cross for the past 6 years. She says "It is a wonderful feeling passing on the importance of donating blood to our students. Saving lives is inspiring!"
In 2008, Cathy became an Assistant Varsity Girls Tennis Coach, a role which she filled for three seasons. In 2011, she stepped up into the Varsity Coaching position and along with her husband, Arnie, as her assistant; the team won the school's very first NEC Championship.
