Dear Lynn Families,
¡Juntos Logramos! Together We Achieve!

On behalf of the School Committee and the Lynn Public Schools staff, it is an honor and privilege to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. As your Interim Superintendent, I could not be more thrilled to be serving the great community of Lynn. Welcome back to those who are re-joining us this school year and a warm welcome to those who are joining us for the first time. We are all still adjusting to the departure of Dr. Tutwiler but using one of his words, and a sentiment I know he would want us all to embrace...ONWARD. There is a quote about the concept of "Onward" which captures the sentiment in Dr. Tutwiler's message. It simply says: "Remember forward movement. Forward is the way of trust. Forward is the way of forgiveness. Forward is the way of action. Forward is the way of healing. Forward is essentially life."

As we move "ONWARD", this year will be about strengthening our foundation. We will take what we have been working on together as a community to create the bedrock that can be built upon into the future. We learn from each other, and our best work is created when we work together.

We are excited about the learning that this new school year will bring.  We are committed to finding more opportunities for our students and elevating their voices and ideas to shape their educational experience.  It is my sincerest hope that we can put most of COVID behind us and prepare for a year with fewer interruptions for our students. We want to capitalize on the joy, enthusiasm, and talents that our students bring with them to school each day.

As a reminder, the first day of school for students are:

Grades 1 through 5, Grade 6, LVTI Discovery and Grade 9 first day will be Wednesday, September 7th
Grades 7 and 8, and Grades 10 through 12 first day will be Thursday, September 8th
Grades Preschool and Kindergarten first day will be Monday, September 12th
