School Lottery Details
Lynn Public Schools offers a range of options for high school students. There are three special admissions high schools that require an application process.
LPS will hold several events and information sessions so that parents and caregivers can find the best fit for their student. We encourage you to visit each school’s webpages and to review each school’s details to make a choice for your student.
Each school has its own lottery form. Students may enter the lottery for any number of schools. If a student is offered a seat at one of the special admission schools and accepts their spot, they will not be eligible for the waitlist of another school.

Admissions Steps

City Arts and Sciences Academy (CASA)
|
1. Complete the lottery form for CASA.
2. Students will be selected through a random lottery after the application form closes. Students who are NOT selected will be added to a waitlist.

Frederick Douglass Collegiate Academy (FDCA)
|
1. Complete the lottery form for FDCA.
2. Students will be selected through a random lottery after the application form closes. Students who are NOT selected will be added to a waitlist.
3. Students who are offered a seat at FDCA must
a. complete an application to North Shore Community College.
b. take the Accuplacer (college proficiency exam) and score a 220 or higher to continue the acceptance process.
3. After the above steps, students must create a writing sample, an artifact project, and then interview with the principal and your family/guardian.

Lynn Vocational Technical Institute (LVTI)
|
1. Complete the lottery form for LVTI.
2. Students who apply can complete and submit an artifact project for an additional lottery entry. Click here to see the full admissions policy for LVTI.
3. Students who are not accepted will be placed on a waitlist.

|

HDSA is Lynn’s alternative school for grades 9 through 12. Students are referred directly to HDSA.

Families must formally accept the enrollment offer by this deadline to secure their student’s spot.

Waitlist Acceptances

Students on the waitlist will be offered seats on a rolling basis until each incoming class is full.
