Advanced Mentoring Requirement
According to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations, participation in an Induction Program is a requirement for advancing a license to the Professional level. All teachers must complete the Induction Program during their first year in the district. Among other requirements most educators need to complete the following:
• One-year Induction Program with a mentor
• At least 50 hours of a mentored experience beyondthe induction year

Lynn Public Schools will provide teachers with an Induction Program and assigned mentors. The district will also provide opportunities for completing the “mentored experience beyond the induction year.”
Year One - Induction Program
Attend all required district meetings Attend School Support Team meetings Meet regularly with a mentor
Keep monthly logs/journals Participate in peer observations Educator Essentials

Strategies for Student Success
All teachers are obligated to know and complete all other requirements necessary to advance their licenses.
