Lynn Public Schools Fine Arts Department is a vibrant hub of creativity and expression, celebrating the diverse talents and abilities of our students in the visual arts. Recognitions in LPS Art:

  • Grants: Mass Cultural Council (MCC): Visiting Artists in LPS at LVTI, Breed Middle School, and Callahan Elementary School- Towana Wright, Helen Patmon, Lisa Boemer with in school arts sessions, project-based learning and exhibitions. 
  • New Art Partnership: Sara Ting, The Sun Poem Project 
  • Beyond Walls: Classroom to the Streets 2.0, development of Art Educator fellowship and artist in residencies for Fall 2024 
  • Raw Arts collaborative art  
  • All City Art Exhibition: 20th Anniversary of successful student art, displayed from all LPS schools, displayed thematically with over 2000 visitors on opening night!  
  • Hispanic Heritage Month Fine Art projects across all LPS schools in September 2024 
  • Black History Month Fine Arts projects across all LPS schools in February 
  • US Rep. Seth Moulton and Montserrat College of Art presented the 6th Essex District Congressional High School Art Show: March 2024 awards presented to our high schools: LCHS and LEHS 
  • Expansion of course offerings in high schools: added Advanced Placement Art (AP Art) at LEHS: implemented September 2024 
  • Professional Development of Fine Arts Educators: Addison Gallery of American Art. Vertical and horizontal alignment for assessing the RESPONSE cluster of the MA Curriculum Frameworks for the Arts 
  • Professional learning: The Art of Education University
