Superintendent Announces New Elementary Deputy Superintendent

Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Assumption College, Master of Elementary Education from Salem State, and her Certification of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Educational Leadership from Salem State.

She brings to this role over 35 years of dedicated service to the Lynn Public Schools, marked by a proven track record of instructional leadership, deep knowledge of our district, and a relentless commitment to equity and student achievement. Her tenure as principal of Lynn Woods Elementary School has been defined by sustained academic growth, high levels of student and family engagement, and the cultivation of a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. Under her leadership, Lynn Woods was named a Commendation School by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for three consecutive years, a distinction earned by only a small number of schools statewide and, more recently, was ranked in the top 8% of elementary schools by U.S. News & World Report and recognized as a 2023 School of Recognition by DESE.

Her success is not rooted in isolated efforts, but in strategic instructional leadership, data-informed practice, and a belief in the potential of every student. She has consistently supported and developed educators through effective coaching, collaborative data cycles, and a focus on high expectations for all learners. Most recently, she embraced the challenge of leading two schools, Lynn Woods and Sisson Elementary simultaneously. She brought her signature approach to both schools: building relationships, centering academic conversations around data, and establishing a clear culture of continuous improvement. Her approach and expertise are needed in all of our schools, and she will be an asset to principals, teachers, and the school community.

Lastly, Ellen is a leader who leads with purpose, clarity, and an unwavering focus on students. I have every confidence that she will bring the same vision, integrity, and drive to her work as Deputy Superintendent.
